Preston is down and out with a 101.6 temp...so I'm down from 6 to 3 kids today. And oh how I've discovered how much "free time" I truly had with just 3 little monkeys! We are logging a bunch of couch/movie time today, so I thought it was a good day to catch up on a few things that have desperately been needing my attention-namely snuggle time with P N & L, updating the blog, deep conditioning my hair (gotta love multi-tasking), painting my nails (only have been wanting to do that for about 4 months!), restarting my bi-weekly work-out date with Debbie Sieber (oh how I've missed you kicking my post-prego bootie) in an attempt to get shaped up for summer, and reading my book club books-yes, I do mange to read something other than Sandra Bouyton and Robert Munsch!
On Monday, I spent some much needed "mommy adult time" with some friends and book club mates at my first attendance to a book launch. The launch was for the #1 of my top 2 favorite authors of all time-Kimberly Stuart.  A Des Moines stay at home momma who has an incredible gift for writing amazing novels! Not to mention she is HILARIOUS to talk to in person. You know, now that I think of it, I could really be great friends with her! I mean we are both witty, SAHM's and not to mention we are both adorable :)...if I do say so myself! :):) lol Focus Amie...I HIGHLY recommend you check out her books at your local library, or better yet BUY the great reads, because you'll find yourself reading them over and over again! Check out her site and pass it along to your friends... http://www.kimberlystuart.com/  Her newest book, Operation Bonnet,  is grabbing me in the first chapter...a dangerous problem for a busy momma to have! I have the familiar feeling that it will keep me hooked into staying up late into the night to see how it turns out!
Just because I'm OBSESSED with another book, I have to plug it here...at a risk of sounding completely crazy, you HAVE to read this series....The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I warn you...it is INCREDIBLY addictive! I have NEVER been able to force myself to actually CHOOSE to read a book instead of sleep, but I have made that choice 3x with her 3 book series! I can't get into the details (mainly because it will require me to only tell you tidbits, which I KNOW I won't be able to do!) so grab the trilogy, snuggle up and get to reading! Ok, blogging time is officially over...thanks P, N & L for letting me have some face time on your blog! Sometimes Mommy's just need a little ME time :)
Momma's little helper...washing our dessert...blueberries! (they should be plenty clean-she washed them with the "inside spray hose" for 10 min!)
Down and out Peanut :(
Lannie has learned 2 new things over the past few weeks...to sign "milk" (which she uses as a universal sign for put anything in my mouth, seriously, I don't care what it is as long as it tastes good or makes me happy!)  and to say "Dadadadada" She insists on babbling those syllables over and over and over again all day long! I love the sound of her voice, the joy it gives her to be communicating, the happiness that it brings to Tim...but seriously, give a momma some love...when are you going bust out a Mamamamama????I'm just sayin'! I've tried to capture the lovely sounds before, but she always closed up like a clam...until now. Just note that when I ask her to say Mama she actually laughs at me! :)
