At my OB appt yesterday I told my dr. that the baby was moving all over the place (so good!!) but that it was also making these weird “shaking” movements about 2x or more a day. She was concerned and sent me to the Perinatal unit at the hospital. They did a Biophysical Profile of the baby and an ultrasound to check everything out. Of course, they did not anticipate that they would catch the little wiggle worm making that same movement as I described, but they didn’t want to take any chances so that is why they ordered the workup.
The whole profile/ultrasound took about 45 min. They were able to see where the cord was (incase it was possibly wrapped around the baby’s neck), watch breathing, flow of the cord, etc. Everything looked good. Of course it would have been helpful if the little one would have moved…I mean…AT ALL the whole time! It was going crazy in the waiting room and then when the tech was trying to watch the heart blood flow, but not a movement when they needed it to! They tried everything, even a buzzer to “wake the baby!” It moved for about ½ a sec and then went back to sleep! Stinker!
She did say that the baby has a TON of hair, the heartbeat was 143 which is the same as what Preston’s was virtually the WHOLE pregnancy (but at the same time the day before it was the exact same as Nessa’s 32 week appt-150)! So this one will keep us guessing until the end! The baby also weighs 4 lb 2 oz (the exact birth weight of Preston-only he was born 2 weeks later than what I am at now).
It was amazing and reassuring that everything looked ok! Whew!!! Keep on praying that this one stays put for 8 more weeks!
