We had quite a crazy last 24 hours. Yesterday Preston, Nessa and I were playing superheroes. Everything was great. No one was screaming, no one was crying (more than usual that is) and no one was hurt...keep that in mind.
Then I was out running errands in the evening and I get a call from Tim asking if Nessa got hurt while we were playing super heroes. I told him she didn't, but he said he couldn’t get her calmed down. I could hear her screaming unlike anything I've ever heard, so I came home. She kept saying that her arm was injured when Preston grabbed her elbow while playing super heroes. But she never complained all afternooon/evening.Then when Tim was pulling her arm through her jammies she started screaming. It had popped out all the way then. The reason she said it was hurt from Preston is because that is when it initially started to pop out giving her a little pain (which she apparently could tolerate!) Then when Tim helped her arm through the jammies, it went out all the way causing the intense pain.
Her right arm was limp and she refused to move it. It wasn't swollen, or bruised, nothing looked out of place. We gave her tylenol and an ice pack and TRIED to get her to sleep. After an hour of comforting, she finally fell asleep and slept all night. In the morning she woke up in the same position as she went to bed. She still wouldn't move her arm.

We called our pediatrician and waited for a call back. They wanted us to come in to take a look at it before they closed at noon (of course it was 11a). So after trying to get her dressed, and hearing the screams, I could have sworn that she broke her collarbone. I had to rig up a creative way to keep her secure in her carseat because she couldn't move her arm. Ms Sally came in and said she was going to manipulate her arm and feel for a pop. If it popped, she was going to leave the room because that always makes the kids upset because it hurts and they are scared. Well, she felt the pop and left the room saying "She had nursemaid elbow"(similiar to a dislocation, but called a, hmmm, sublamation????). Nessa quivered her lip, and had the most horrified look on her face, but NO TEARS!!!
When Ms Sally returned, she said that Ness was so brave and she couldn't belive she didn't cry!!! She offered Nessa 2 stickers so she was forced to use both arms. Nessa looked at me, looked at Sally, and then looked at her arm and lifted it up. She was AMAZED!!! Nessa looked at her arm in amazement and said "Ms Sally you AWESOME!"
So it was, needless to say, the BEST trip to the dr EVER!!! No shots, no RX, no tears and a 100% different acting child when we left!!!!
My right arm is the one I couldn't move. So sad :(
After the dr...YIPPEE!!! I can move everything and I am SOOO happy!!!
